Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct outlines expectations for respectful behavior in the school community. Members are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, support learning by minimizing distractions, and help those in need. Unacceptable behaviors include bullying or harassment, causing harm motivated by hate or discrimination, using personal electronic devices without permission, and using or possessing vaping, nicotine, or tobacco products on school property. Students are encouraged to speak to a staff member if they or someone else needs help, and more information is available through Ontario’s Provincial Code of Conduct resources.

Summer Learning Opportunities
2026 Elementary Summer School Opportunities
2026 Elementary Summer School Opportunities from running from July 6 to July 24, daily 8:45 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. Registration is now open, with a deadline of May 29, 2026.
The program offers 15-day literacy and numeracy support for students currently in Grades 6, 7, and 8, helping reinforce learning from their current grade. Information on how to register is provided for both YRDSB students (via the My Pathway Planner) and non-YRDSB students.

2026 Grade 8 Reach Ahead
The 2026 Grade 8 Reach Ahead program is running from June 30 to July 24, daily from 8:45 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. The program allows students currently completing Grade 8 to earn a high school credit before entering Grade 9.
Registration is now open, with a deadline of May 22, 2026. Students may choose from two course options:
- Discovering the Workplace (in-person), which helps students explore career pathways and prepare for the high school environment.
- International Languages – Simplified Mandarin (remote learning), delivered through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous instruction, with no prior language experience required.

Children's Mental Health Awareness Week
- YRDSB is proud to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week from May 4th to May 8th, 2026.
- The Central Mental Health Team will be hosting a virtual mental health and wellness presentation for families and caregivers on Wednesday May 6, 2026 (6:30 pm to 7:30 pm).
- All Parents and Caregivers are welcome. Translation can be provided through the online virtual platform tool. Languages: Farsi-Persian, Mandarin (simple Chinese written), Cantonese (traditional Chinese written), Turkish, Ukrainian, Korean.

- The Central Mental Health Team has curated a comprehensive Family Toolkit.
YRDSB Learning about Mental Health Presentation Series (LAMPS) for Parents and Caregivers on Social Media and Mental Health
What is the presentation about?
Some topics include:
- Defining social media
- Understanding the risks and benefits of social media use
- Strategies to help youth manage their social media use

Jewish Heritage Month Celebration
- Inclusive School and Community Services (ISCS) and the Network of Educators Supporting Jewish Learners (NESJL) invite students, parents, community and staff to come together in celebration of Jewish Heritage Month through an evening of connection, creativity, and community.

Annual Anti-Human Trafficking Conference
- Parents, caregivers, guardians, community members and youth 11+ are welcome to attend the 4th Annual Anti-Human Trafficking Conference in York Region.
- Join us at Seneca Polytechnic College King Campus on May 12, 2026, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. for an evening of learning, networking, and collaboration in the fight against human trafficking.
- Registration for the 4th Annual York Region Anti-Human Trafficking Conference on Eventbrite.
- Our conference brings together experts, advocates, and community members to raise awareness and education. Through engaging workshops, inspirational talks and community booths, we gain valuable knowledge and tools to protect and empower our community. Free refreshments and a light dinner will be provided.
City of Richmond Hill "Mayor for a Day" 2026
- The City of Richmond Hill is pleased to invite students in grades five through eight to participate in Richmond Hill's Mayor for a Day Contest.
- Students can apply using the Mayor for a Day contest form. The application period is open from April 10, 2026 until May 3, 2026.
